Coos County Logging Museum
The Coos County Logging Museum is a Myrtle Point landmark. The museum is housed in a distinctive dome-shaped building built in 1910 and now listed with the National Register of Historic Places. Inside, an extensive collection of antique logging equipment and rare photographs celebrate the rich history of logging in the area. Nine large hand-carved myrtlewood panels by renowned woodcarver Alexander Benjamin Warnock capture scenes from the glory days of timber industry in Coos County. The carvings bring to the exhibit a major art collection of national reputation.
